Lake Forest Symphony, Alan Heatherington Music Director, will celebrate the Schumann Bicentennial with a pair of concerts on Friday, October 15th and Saturday, October 16th at 8:00 pm at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts on the College of Lake County campus in Grayslake. Critically acclaimed cellist, Wendy Warner, will be the featured guest artist performing Schumann's lyrical Cello Concerto in a minor. The program will also include Schumann's dramatic Manfred Overture and Bruckner's glorious Symphony No. 7 in E. Ms. Warner's performance is sponsored by Lake Forest Place, a division of Presbyterian Homes. Partial funding is also provided by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency. Ticket prices range from $32 to $54 with student and senior discounts available. Patrons are invited to attend a free pre-concert lecture at the concert venue featuring music educator, Jim Kenros. A pre-paid Ensemble Dinner for patrons attending the Saturday, October 16th performance will be hosted by the Symphony Guild and held at the Country Squire in Grayslake. Ensemble Dinner reservations must be made by October 14th.
