The Discovery Network says it's planning on expanding its "Cash Cab" game show to Chicago. And it's hired Beth Melewksi, current appearing at the Second City e.t.c., as its main personality.

And thus Melewksi has landed that rarest of gigs: a national TV show without having to leave Chicago.

"Cash Cab," which was based on a British show, involves unsuspecting customers heading into a cab and encountering a chance to play an in-cab trivia game (hosted in Chicago by Melewski) that will award them escalating amounts of cash. In order to work, of course, the show requires a city where cab use is common. Chicago episodes are expected to start to air in May.
